We are looking for a Paid Search Specialist to join the elite forces of Katana’s digital media team. Job Responsibilities:

  • Become Katana resident expert on paid search platforms (AdWords and Bing Ads); achieve and maintain certifications, push for advanced strategic uses of all platform tactics and technology
  • Gather client data from Campaign Analysts for campaigns and audience integrations
  • Set up targeting options, build, restructure and set up campaigns in assigned product channels
  • Enable machine learning (Smart Bidding), automation frameworks and scripting within channels
  • QA setup and Katana checklists of best practices for campaigns
  • Pacing and monitoring of all assigned campaigns; adjust if needed to remain within budget parameters
  • Maintain data accuracy within Katana reporting structures and dashboards
  • Monitor and adjust proactive and reactive optimizations;
  • Bring up new campaign and tactical execution ideas and opportunities to Campaign Analyst and Director of Client Strategy
  • Recommend new features and platform capabilities into client campaigns
  • Monitor, report and perform analysis on assigned campaigns
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree achieved, preferably in marketing, statistics, computer science, or business
  • Current certifications in Google AdWords, Bing Ads, and Google Analytics certification
  • Minimum of two (2) years professional work experience in media, marketing or communications role, higher preference to previous agency experience
  • Demonstrated high proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Keynote including excellent writing and proof-reading skills
  • Basic understanding of digital media fundamentals and language
  • Strong mathematical knowledge, data analysis, and cause and effect relationships with information/data
  • Proactive self-starter & problem-solving mentality in situations with limited info/data
  • Strong ability to work independently within a team environment
  • Ability to multitask and identify prioritizations under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment with the supervision of media leads
  • Intellectual agility with an ever-learning mindset
  • Superbly analytical by nature
  • Proficiency in use of databases, particularly in data entry, extraction, report creation
  • Aptitude to gain advanced excel proficiency, basic understanding or knowledge of more advanced data management platforms a plus


This position is non-exempt and is paid hourly, according to the laws of the State of California. Katana is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
