Job Description

Katana is seeking a Content Marketing & Social Media Specialist to join the elite forces of Katana’s media team. As the Content Marketing Specialist, your main responsibility will be to research and publish high-level content for our company blog, white papers and other Marketing resources. You will maintain Katana’s social media channels and ensure that relevant content is gathered and published on a regular basis. You will be in direct contact with industry professionals and experts internally as well as externally to create engaging, thought-provoking content. As a Content Marketing & Social Media Specialist, you will be expected to develop industry sources, interview executives, and monitor activity, blogs, social media and press releases from relevant companies. Desired Skills + Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English Literature or a related field required
  • 0 – 2 years of experience of related work and/internship/class project experience
  • Proven track record of successfully generating social media or blog content (could be for personal use)
  • Fluency with all popular social media networks
  • Proactive, extremely organized and self-starting
  • Excellent research, writing and time management skills
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Interest in a career in blogging, journalism or marketing
  • Fundamental knowledge of website analytics, SEO and web publishing tools preferred

Primary Responsibilities

  • Research and write blog postings, email and landing page content, case studies, press releases and articles on industry newsbreaks and company offerings
  • Source, write and fact-check stories to deadline for the website, blog and white papers
  • Track progress and success of written material via Google Analytics
  • SEO management, optimization and research
  • Acquire and develop a thorough understanding of the search industry, the wider digital marketing industry and its participants and operations
  • Interview industry professionals (internally as well as externally for Q&As)
  • Manage Katana’s social properties through the scheduling and publishing of compelling content to each channel
  •  Train co-workers to use social media in a cohesive and beneficial way
  •  Develop an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and customer engagement metrics
  • Generate ideas for new content, commercial projects and other brand extensions
  • Assist with other Katana projects to grow the organization’s strategy brand
