At Katana, even though data defines our work, our people define our culture. Take a minute to get to know Allison Steinkamp, who’s been with Katana as Administrative Assistant and Office Manager for three months now.
What advice would you give to a recent hire?
Be a sponge! There are so many talented and knowledgeable people at Katana that I have learned something new almost every single day!
What is a fun fact about you?
I am associated with the largest cycling race in the United States, the Amgen Tour of California. I have been a podium girl for this race for the past 5 years and it has been one of the most exciting experiences of my life. The Tour of California travels all throughout our great state and hosts the top cyclists in the world as a precursor to their Tour de France appearance. My official title in association to the race is the Michelob Ultra Podium Ambassador and aside from my general duties of running the stage during jersey and award presentations, I am lucky enough to be included in helping spread awareness for several charitable foundations that are associated with the Tour. If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Eleanor Roosevelt. She was a force to be reckoned with and unbeknownst to most Americans, was extremely involved in the leadership of our country whilst her husband was in office and suffering from his ailments. She didn’t coast through life, but took the proverbial ‘bull by the horns’ and made the most of every opportunity to create movement and change.
