We aren’t all work, no play here at KATANA. When Q3 rolls around, we like to celebrate the closing of a chapter and the summer season—and what better way to do it but at the Opening Day at the Del Mar races? Attending Opening Day has been a KATANA classic company outing. We were also excited to welcome our new KATANA team member Michael Sims to the family with a fun day at the horse races. We started off the day at KATANA HQ, with some light refreshments and drinks at the office, and of course admiring every outfit and hat combination that walked into the office!
After an hour and a half of snacks, drinks, and mingling, a sleek (and large!) limo bus arrived to take us all to the Del Mar races. A private bus ride to the races isn’t complete with good music, good drinks, and excellent company:
But of course, we can’t forget the outfits! Our Best Dressed Gentleman: David Alvarez, Software Developer
Our Katana ladies came dressed to the 9’s! Best Dressed Lady: Lauren Forbes, Staff Accountant (Red dress)
Pictured in the dark blue and white checkered shirt in the second picture is our new Junior Data Analyst, Michael Sims!
Being at a horse race isn’t complete without betting on horses with the best names! No one won big, but some of our team members got a bit of luck. All in all, it was a fun way for the team to unwind, let loose and (maybe) win some bets. We like to begin every quarter with gifts or big company outings to revitalize the infectious positive attitude that we all strive to have every morning at KATANA.
